Overview:
Our client, a leading global travel management company based in South Africa, specializing in touring, leisure travel, and sports tourism, is seeking a Sales & Marketing Coordinator to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in the travel industry to support the growth of the business while working closely with the Sales and Operations teams.
The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to manage multiple tasks, assist in proposal development, support marketing initiatives, and maintain client and supplier relationships. Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Support: Assist the sales team in writing and compiling sales proposals, primarily for the school travel sector, targeting new and existing customers.
- Client Proposal Management: Follow up on client proposals, keeping detailed progress reports and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Quotation Handover: Assist the sales team with the handover of quotations to operations once bookings are made, ensuring smooth transitions.
- CRM Management: Work with the sales team to maintain and update the CRM system, ensuring accurate tracking of proposals and monthly reporting.
- Marketing Support: Collaborate with the marketing team to create and compile content for newsletters, client social media platforms, and marketing campaigns.
- Product Development: Assist in reviewing existing client products and help develop new offerings, identifying new suppliers (e.g., DMCs).
- Client Relationship Management: Maintain and build client relationships, ensuring client expectations are met and proposals are delivered professionally and on time.
- Supplier Relations: Build and maintain good working relationships with existing and new suppliers, both locally and internationally.
- Administration: Handle administrative tasks, including document management, filing, and ensuring all proposals, itineraries, and costings are accurate.
- Travel & Events: Attend site visits, familiarization trips, and events when necessary to enhance product knowledge.
Qualifications & Expertise:
- Education: Matric or relevant tourism qualification.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in the tourism industry, with a focus on travel management, sales, or marketing.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with systems used for compiling proposals and drafting itineraries.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to consistently produce high-quality proposals and documentation.
- Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple files and tasks while prioritizing effectively.
- Customer Focus: Proven experience in managing client expectations and delivering excellent customer service.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and public holidays when necessary.
- Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to tasks.
