Broker/Contract Broker

Our client is looking for an experienced and proactive Broker/Contract Broker to manage contractual agreements, negotiate favorable terms, and build strong relationships with clients and service providers. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, ensuring operational efficiency and optimal contract performance.

Responsibilities:

• Contract Negotiation and Management:
• Source, negotiate, and manage transport contracts with clients and service providers.
• Ensure all contracts align with operational requirements, company policies, and compliance standards.
• Monitor contract performance and address any variances or disputes promptly.
• Client and Service Provider Relationships:
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and trust.
• Act as the main liaison for service providers, ensuring clear communication and smooth operations.
• Identify opportunities to expand service offerings with existing and potential clients.
• Operational Oversight:
• Coordinate the execution of contracts, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
• Monitor vehicle allocation, load progress, and delivery timelines to optimize performance.
• Collaborate with operational teams to address logistical challenges and improve efficiency.
• Financial Management:
• Assess the financial viability of contracts and negotiate rates to ensure profitability.
• Conduct financial risk assessments, including evaluating client creditworthiness.
• Work closely with the finance team to manage payment terms and resolve outstanding issues.
• Compliance and Reporting:
• Ensure all contracts and operations adhere to legal, regulatory, and company standards.
• Prepare and deliver detailed reports on contract performance, including KPIs and financial outcomes.
• Identify and implement improvements based on performance data and market trends.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Familiarity with logistics software and systems is a plus.
• Valid drivers license and own reliable transport.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12/Matric Certificate; additional qualifications in logistics, business management, or a related field are advantageous.
