Our client is looking for an experienced and proactive Broker/Contract Broker to manage contractual agreements, negotiate favorable terms, and build strong relationships with clients and service providers. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, ensuring operational efficiency and optimal contract performance.
Responsibilities:
- Contract Negotiation and Management:
- Source, negotiate, and manage transport contracts with clients and service providers.
- Ensure all contracts align with operational requirements, company policies, and compliance standards.
- Monitor contract performance and address any variances or disputes promptly.
- Client and Service Provider Relationships:
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and trust.
- Act as the main liaison for service providers, ensuring clear communication and smooth operations.
- Identify opportunities to expand service offerings with existing and potential clients.
- Operational Oversight:
- Coordinate the execution of contracts, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
- Monitor vehicle allocation, load progress, and delivery timelines to optimize performance.
- Collaborate with operational teams to address logistical challenges and improve efficiency.
- Financial Management:
- Assess the financial viability of contracts and negotiate rates to ensure profitability.
- Conduct financial risk assessments, including evaluating client creditworthiness.
- Work closely with the finance team to manage payment terms and resolve outstanding issues.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure all contracts and operations adhere to legal, regulatory, and company standards.
- Prepare and deliver detailed reports on contract performance, including KPIs and financial outcomes.
- Identify and implement improvements based on performance data and market trends.

- Proficiency in preparing reports and analyzing performance metrics.
- 3-5 years of experience in a broker or contract management role, preferably in logistics or transport.
- Proven track record in negotiating and managing contracts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with logistics software and systems is a plus.
- Valid drivers license and own reliable transport.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12/Matric Certificate; additional qualifications in logistics, business management, or a related field are advantageous.
