This position reports into the Production Lead and is based at Cape Town, South Africa.

What You Will Do
The Production Pharmacist supports production (dispensary, manufacturing, packaging and distribution) processes to ensure these that these processes are compliant, reliable and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Support:
- Ensure compliance of procedures and processes with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Drive and support the closure of compliance-related audit findings.
- Perform line-openings and in-process checks as required by legislative and company standards.
- Update GMP documents (SOP, WI, PPI, PI, etc.) and provide training accordingly.
- Ensure effective communication across all relevant parties.
- Complete all production documentation and processes according to c GMP guidelines.
Process Knowledge:
- Understand process flows, controls, and associated risks.
- Possess technical knowledge of the product and its composition.
- Grasp the process and product cost structures.
- Provide training to operators as needed.
Product Stewardship:
- Ensure compliance with GMP, EHS, and quality standards during plan execution and related tasks.
- Initiate, investigate, and resolve non-compliance issues, CAPAs, change controls, deviations, and customer complaints.
- Support process transfers (incoming and outgoing).
- Perform both planned and ad hoc in-process audits to maintain GMP standards.
- Support regulatory teams with technical documentation.
Continuous Improvement:
- Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance GMP compliance and standards.
- Routinely analyze processes to identify risks or inefficiencies.
- Lead and execute improvement projects within the area of responsibility.
- Plan and implement improvement projects.
- Conduct internal assessments in production areas and develop corrective actions to strengthen c GMP.
Qualifications
What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications
Educational and Professional Requirements:
- Must be registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a qualified Pharmacist.
- Possess 2-3 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Supervisory experience or relevant qualification is advantageous.
Technical and Compliance Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the South African c GMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines.
- Ability to ensure GMP, EHS (Environmental Health and Safety), and quality compliance during all related tasks.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent planning and administrative skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Logical approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting.
- High work standards and a strong sense of business ethics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Availability:
- Willingness to work shifts, if required.
Interpersonal and Management Skills:
- Active listening and communication skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback.
- Ability to drive accountability and encourage team input in decision-making.
- Target-driven with strong deadline management skills.
