Position Overview

Our client, a young and fast-growing wine business, is seeking a passionate and dynamic Sales Manager to join their team. This role will initially be an in-office position but will become a hybrid role over time and trust has been built with the team.

This position offers the opportunity to work both in-office and remotely, with extensive local and international travel to build and nurture relationships with distribution partners and industry stakeholders.

This position is perfect for someone with a strategic mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for driving sales in the wine industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the company’s sales strategy in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Drive sales in the South African market and expand international sales channels.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with national and international clients to grow the business.
  • Support the brand’s story and increase awareness in local and international markets.
  • Analyze market trends and identify the best distribution channels.
  • Represent the company at events and meetings to enhance its presence in the wine industry.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role in the wine industry.
  • Strong understanding of modern sales tools and market trends.
  • Excellent digital and computer skills with a solid analytical mindset.
  • Proven ability to develop strategic and innovative sales approaches with a hands-on attitude.
  • Result-driven and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, backed by analytical and rational thinking.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build enthusiasm and trust with clients and colleagues.
  • A proactive and organized approach to managing multiple responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Formal certifications such as WSET Level 2/3 or CWA diploma are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in English (additional languages are a plus).

Benefits

Location: Wine farm is based in Hermanus. Ideal candidate will reside in Stellenbosch, Somerset West, or Durbanville (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: R60,000 CTC per month + Commission (to be discussed at interview stage)
