UX/UI Designer

Responsibilities:

• Unpacking client requirements to inform the functional scope of a product or feature;
• Creating detailed user research plans based on project objectives;
• Conducting and facilitating user research (both generative and evaluative) to identify user goals, motivations, and pain points;
• Synthesising and analysing user research data to inform or improve design solutions;
• Creating user journeys, task flows, wireframes, and prototypes of design solutions to meet both users and the clients objectives;
• Designing functional and visually appealing solutions that address user needs and comply with usability standards;
• Setting up and maintaining design systems to ensure consistency across projects;
• Collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of design solutions;
• Presenting findings and design solutions to clients and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project goals and user needs;
• Staying updated on the latest UX/UI trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve design quality.

Skills:

• Creative problem-solving abilities with the capacity to generate new ideas and solutions;
• In-depth understanding of and experience with a variety of user research methods and processes;
• Strong grasp of user experience principles (e.g., Design Thinking, information architecture, human factors design, accessibility standards, etc.);
• Effective communication skills for articulating design decisions to stakeholders of various technical backgrounds;
• Strong UI and visual design skills with an understanding of human-computer interaction (HCI) best practices;
• Experience in designing for multiple channels and platforms, including web, mobile, and potentially emerging platforms (e.g., VR, AR);
• Familiarity with Agile development processes and how UX/UI design integrates into such frameworks;
• Experience in creating and maintaining design systems to ensure design consistency across various products;
• Attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Competencies:

• Proficiency with wireframing and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, etc.);
• Strong command of the Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.);
• Front-end web development experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus;
• Familiarity with usability testing tools and techniques;
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and presentations.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in UX/UI or product design in a professional setting;
• Certified training or a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Interaction Design, HCI, Visual Design);
• A strong portfolio showcasing case studies that highlight your design process, problem-solving skills, and impact on project outcomes (applications without portfolios will not be considered);
• Experience with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) is highly desirable;
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
