The Matric Rewrite Teacher is responsible for providing instruction and support to learners who are retaking their matriculation examinations. This role involves developing tailored lesson plans, delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and fostering a supportive learning environment to help students achieve their academic goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Curriculum Development: Design and implement lesson plans that align with the
- Instruction: Deliver high-quality instruction using a variety of teaching methods to
- Assessment and Evaluation: Create, administer, and grade assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress. Provide constructive feedback to support improvement.
- Student Support: Offer guidance and support to students facing academic challenges. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Progress Monitoring: Track and analyze student performance data to identify areas for improvement and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and school administration regarding student progress and challenges.
- Professional Development: Stay current with educational best practices and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Administrative Duties: Complete necessary administrative tasks, including attendance records, report cards, and other documentation as required.
- Management of Learner Management System – CANVAS: Management of Subject
Content on CANVAS, Assessment and Grading, Communication and Collaboration, Tracking and monitoring student engagement, Ensuring Academic Integrity, and Providing Feedback.
SKILLS- Strong knowledge of the South African education system and matriculation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software for teaching and assessment.
- Patient, empathetic, and supportive attitude towards students.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire learners.
- Work is typically performed in a classroom setting.

Requirements
FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS AND INHERENT REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications required Essential Recommended
A recognized three-year (REQV 13) qualification which includes professional educator education
A four-year (REQV 14) qualification which includes professional educator education
Registration as a professional educator with the South African Council for Educators/proof of application for registration
Foreign educators must have a valid work permit and passport and be registered at the South African Council of Educators.
