Buyer

The automotive buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating and purchasing materials, parts, and services that are required for the maintenance of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee supplier contracts, purchase agreements, and other purchasing-related documentation.
• Oversee and monitor Health and Safety protocols, advising Management regarding possible problems and providing solutions.
• Monitor of daily processes to ensure effective customer service.
• Oversee Stock controllers to ensure correctness of processes.
• Monitor all stock adjustments and cost adjustments.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies that lead to cost savings and improved supplier performance.
• Source, evaluate, and engage suppliers based on their quality, price, and delivery capabilities.
• Conduct negotiations with suppliers to achieve favourable pricing and terms.
• Analyze and interpret data related to purchasing to identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials and parts needed for maintenance and consumables.
• Update the Procurement Register with Requisitions.
• Create Purchase Requisitions on the system for all manual Requisitions received.
• Expediting of orders to ensure timeous delivery.
• Maintain the Procurement Register by updating GRNs and Invoices.
• Actively manage suppliers On Time Delivery (OTD) to achieve the pre-determined targets.
• Ensure correct/achievable delivery dates and adherence to these dates.
• Where delivery dates cannot be met and/or change, the relevant parties must be informed. The delivery must then be managed until delivery takes place.
• Keeping of records with respect to follow up and expediting of deliveries.
• Assist Suppliers with enquiries/ problems to ensure these do not influence OTD.
• Adhere to the company policy with respect to BBBEE and ethical supplier management.
• Assist with account queries.
• Ensure quality standards are upheld.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Monitor supplier performance and hold them accountable for meeting quality and delivery standards.
