An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven professional to step into the role of Manager: Cell Therapy and Novel Products on behalf of a pioneering organisation in the healthcare sector. In this influential role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management and strategic development of both cryopreservation and novel product laboratories. From overseeing laboratory production processes to implementing enabling technologies and mentoring future leaders in the field, this is a chance to make a lasting impact.The role also includes managing the accreditation process, contributing to national health strategies, and collaborating with a range of key industry stakeholders, from the Department of Health to leading research institutions.
Key skills and experience required:
- A PhD in cell biology, stem cell biology, tissue engineering or a related field (HPCSA registration essential), OR an MBChB with relevant specialisation and HPCSA registration.
- Strong clinical and laboratory experience in haematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
- Demonstrated expertise in cryopreservation, flow cytometry, and the culture of human cells.
- Proven ability in implementing quality systems and meeting relevant accreditations (cGLP, cGMP, GCTP).
- Experience in setting up new laboratories and managing multidisciplinary laboratory teams.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and people development skills.
