Quality Assurance Manager

Our client is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to lead and manage the quality assurance processes within their organization. The role involves ensuring that all products meet the established standards of quality including reliability, usability, and performance.
The successful candidate will oversee the entire quality management system, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Food Safety Management:
- Maintain and update the organization's food safety management system.
- Handle customer complaints from receipt to resolution.
- Ensure that product release requirements are met and verified.
- Prepare and lead external audits, including FSSC 22000 and customer audits.
- Manage non-conformances through corrective and preventative actions.
- Schedule and chair food safety meetings and management review meetings.
- Conduct internal audits according to the audit schedule.
- Oversee the inspection and collection of certificates of conformance for received goods.
- Ensure employee training aligns with the Training Matrix.
- Implement and maintain the Food Defence Plan, Food Fraud Mitigation Plan, and Vulnerability Assessment.
- Hazard Control:
- Ensure that all control measures are validated, implemented, and verified for efficacy.
- Maintain accurate process flow diagrams and hazard analyses for all products.
- Ensure the Allergen Matrix is up-to-date and that all final product packaging materials comply with allergen declaration legislation.
- Prerequisite Programs:
- Plan, monitor, and verify daily and weekly cleaning activities.
- Ensure compliance with the microbiological testing schedule and aseptic sampling.
- Monitor Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) throughout the facility.
- Ensure all suppliers are approved according to the Supplier Evaluation Process and maintain the Approved Supplier List.
- Quality Control:
- Verify online quality control activities, including OPRPs, CCPs, and final product weights.
- Manage retention samples, including collection, sorting, storage, and tracking.
- Conduct laboratory tests as needed, such as moisture, pH, and TPM.
- Procurement & Logistics:
- Arrange the courier of product release samples to customers.
- Order and issue consumables necessary for the quality assurance processes.
Key Skills:
- Strong knowledge of food safety management systems, such as FSSC 22000.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer complaints effectively.
- Proficiency in conducting audits and preparing for external audits.
- Ability to manage and train staff on quality control and food safety standards.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple programs and initiatives simultaneously.
- Attention to detail, especially in maintaining documentation and records.
- Experience in managing a team and overseeing quality control operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality assurance role within the food industry.
- Certification in FSSC 22000 or similar food safety management systems.
