Finance and Investment Intern

About the role
To assist in creating efficiencies in the finance, i-nvestments and sales functions.
DUTIES- Prepare monthly management fee billing
- Maintain the creditors function (invoice approvals and sending receipts to signa)
- Maintain the banking administration function( opening accounts, adding accounts and users to business online, saving bank statements into client folders, etc)
- Maintain asset register
- Maintain a register of audit firm we use for our PEFs
- Assist with QI compliance (obtaining quarterly reporting from QIs)
- Generate reports for deal pipeline and marketing initiatives
- Maintaining prospect list for deal pipeline
- Maintain commissions list/register ( onboarding new advisors, linking advisors to new clients and ensuring advisor invoice when their client is implemented, liasing with Shares services)
- Scheduling and tracking of stakeholder meetings
- Taking minutes of meetings
- Social media posting and monitoring
The Finance intern will work in the office
- He/She shall be required to be at the office during the prescribed business hours and beyond at time to meet deadlines
- There may be occasions when it is necessary for duties to be undertaken away from the office, the candidate is required to have the necessary resources to enable them to continue performing their duties remotely(eg:stable internet connection)
- South African unemployed YOUTH aged between 18 and 34
- Must not have taken part on the YES Programme before
- Knowledge of accounting standards
- Knowledge of general administration procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially excel)
- Openness to learning and training.
- Self-motivated.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise is important.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional and friendly demeanour.
