Refrigeration & Maintenance Technician
A well established and reputable cold storage company based in Durbanville has an excellent opportunity for a Refrigeration & Maintenance Technician to join their dynamic team. Minimum of 5 – 6 years’ experience within this industry.
Requirements
Maintaining and repairing plant and equipment (mechanical & electrical)
Conducting routine inspections and servicing of maintenance and safety systems
Implementing the preventative maintenance plan
Ensure the optimal use of the energy / savin management system
Manage workshop and tools
Maintaining and conducting general maintenance
Housekeeping and managing of safety standards within department according to the OHS Act, relevant legislation and codes
Conducting daily checks to identify any faults and following the maintenance schedule
Maintenance responsibilities will include refrigeration plants, compressors, condensers, pumps, valves, heat exchangers and cold storage rooms
Education:
Matric
Certificate / Diploma N4 (Electrical / Fitter & Turner)
Proven history in the refrigeration industry with ammonia exp
Comprehensive knowledge of temperature control systems
Sound working knowledge of the OHS Act to work on Ammonia Refrigeration Equipment
Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience with cold storage
Experience with the fruit industry will be adv.
Valid Driver’s License
Computer Literate: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Wireman’s License will be adv.

Excellent command of both English and Afrikaans, both written and spoken
Ability to perform well under pressure
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent time management skills
Strong ability to conceptualize
Very strong maintenance skills
