About the role
A sales consultant is a professional responsible for promoting and selling a company's products or services to customers by building relationships, understanding their needs, providing expert advice, and ultimately closing deals, aiming to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base; their key duties include lead generation, prospecting, presenting products, negotiating terms, and maintaining long-term client relationship
Responsibilities:
- Primarily responsible for generating new business by identifying potential clients
- Building relationships with them, understanding their needs, presenting products or services
- Negotiating deals, and closing sales to meet sales targets, while maintaining a strong understanding of market trends and providing excellent customer service post-sale to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business; they act as a bridge between the company and its customers,
- Promoting products and services through effective communication and sales techniques
Requirement:
- South African unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
- Must not have participated on the programme before.
- A sales consultant typically needs strong communication skills, excellent negotiation abilities
- A deep understanding of the product or service being sold
- The ability to build rapport with clients, identify their needs, and close deals, often requiring a background in sales and potentially a business-related degree
