Roles and Responsibilities
A Food Safety and Quality Manager ensures food products meet safety and quality standards, overseeing processes from raw materials to finished goods, implementing and maintaining food safety management systems, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Safety Management System (FSMS) Development and Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain a robust FSMS, including HACCP plans and other relevant protocols.
Compliance and Audits:Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 22000, FSSC 22000) through audits and inspections.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and control food safety and quality risks throughout the production process.
Training and Communication:Train staff on food safety practices, procedures, and regulatory requirements, fostering a culture of safety and quality.
Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure raw materials and ingredients meet safety and quality standards.
Investigation and Corrective Action: Investigate food safety incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Reporting and Documentation:Prepare and submit reports to regulatory bodies as required, maintaining accurate records of food safety and quality activities.
Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure products meet specifications.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement in food safety and quality systems and processes.
Customer Relations: Interact with customers and authorities regarding food safety and quality issues.
Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for food safety and quality programs.
