Senior Mechanical Engineer (Oil and Gas)

Overview

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa

• BSc in Chemical Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred
• Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices
• Experience with design, construction, and operation of oil and gas facilities
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools

• Lead and oversee mechanical engineering projects related to oil and gas facilities
• Design, develop, and evaluate mechanical systems and components
• Perform calculations, simulations, and analyses to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Provide technical support to other team members and departments
• Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and contractors
• Conduct site visits and inspections to identify and resolve mechanical issues
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines
• Review and approve project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports
• Participate in meetings, presentations, and training sessions
• Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices
