Junior Secretary - Third Party Division (Litigation & RAF)

Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys with litigation process related tasks.
  • Assist attorneys and senior secretaries in managing administrative tasks related to Third Party Claims, Road Accident Fund Claims and Medical Negligence Claims.
  • Prepare and maintain legal documents, case files, and correspondence with utmost confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, court hearings, and appointments on behalf of attorneys.
  • Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
  • Organize and manage the Third Party Division and RAF document database.
  • Assist in drafting emails, letters, and other written communication as required.
  • Perform general office tasks, photocopying, and scanning documents.
  • Liaise with clients, court officials, and other third parties professionally and respectfully.
  • Conduct legal research under the guidance of attorneys.
  • Assist with billing and invoicing processes.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (further education in a legal or administrative field will be advantageous)
  • Knowledge of the litigation process and basic legal principles (experience in High Court Litigation)
  • Proven organizational and multitasking abilities to handle a diverse workload efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in document preparation and data entry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using office software and applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, legal document management systems).
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take direction from senior staff members.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of the Road Accident Fund (RAF) processes will be considered a significant asset.
