The main task of this position as Business Development Manager (BDM) for Renewable Energy in South(ern) Africa is to facilitate the growth of Renewable Energy Services in Sub-Sahara Africa. This position is responsible for managing services (testing, inspection and certification) or advisory projects mainly in the field of Renewable Energy in the Southern Africa region.
There will be synergies in the work environment to related Green Energy & Sustainability fields such as hydrogen and climate action projects. In this respect, the position is responsible for managing ongoing and newly awarded projects with suitable qualifications and experiences within the local and global team.

Furthermore, this position requires experience in the industry-specific field of energy and a deep understanding of the market and policies in Southern Africa. Based on this knowledge, relevant services will be identified, and new projects be developed.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze markets and provide strategic directions on how to develop new business in the field of Renewable Energy
- Analyze market sectors and prospect clients to identify best business opportunities
- Orchaster and represent internal activities in the field of Renewable Energy
- Collaboration within global teams
- Define and implement the strategic plan to approach & capture client’s needs
- Refining local Renewable Energy strategy
- Lead consulting projects, by managing internal/external project team
- Report periodically to CEO on project roll out
- Transfer consulting knowledge and skills to internal staff
- Initiate and complete proposals and presentation for new business opportunities
- Grow a team of BD / internal experts

- The Candidate can either work from Johannesburg or Cape Town
- University degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
- 3+ years of experience in the Renewable Energy sector
- Proven track record of developing new businesses
- Ideally, ECSA certificate
- Experience in project managing change projects
- A passion for developing business and a drive to succeed
- Delivery of projects according to established timelines
- Attain an excellent customer satisfaction rating
- Meet established market growth targets
- Proven expertise in the planning, execution, and leadership of new business strategies
- Proven strategy consulting skills
- Excellent leadership skills and presentational ability; motivating colleagues & inspiring potential clients
- Strong knowledge of core sectors
- Strong understanding of existing and emergent social technologies
- Excellent communication skills at CxO-LE level
- Excellent capability to influence both peers and indirect reporting lines

- Strong in client connection and client services
- Strong communication in English

- In-depth knowledge of the TIC industry and its reference industries, and its current trends & drivers
