Infrastructure Engineer VMware VCP, CompTIA Server+ - Johannesburg
The role of the Data Centre Engineer requires a blend of technical expertise, problemsolving abilities, and collaboration skills to ensure the efficient and secure operation of the data centre infrastructure supporting the organisations mission-critical service and applications.
Position is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and optimization of data centre infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability and security of critical systems and services housed within the data centre environment.Role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing best practices to support the organisations data centre operations
Minimum requirements:
Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field preferable -
Relevant certifications such as VMware VCP, CompTIA Server+, Storage Skills or equivalent certifications are desirable
Strong IT/Datacentre skills/experience/background
Strong understanding of networking protocols, routing, and switching concepts
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a systematic approach to issue resolution
Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on business needs
Minimum 4 to 5 years work experience, based on the above job spec
