Transport Manager

We are looking for a Transport Manager based in Gqeberha
Duties and Responsibilities- Enforce safety and housekeeping programme on an on-going basis including housekeeping of the yard
- Manage damage and theft
- Manage expenses/budget in the department. (E.g. Overtime, repairs, diesel, etc.)
- Manage the fines of all fleet vehicles
- Manage the staff in the department with regards to productivity and time management.
- Manage, plan and do sequencing of routes
- Manage the schedule maintenance and repairs
- Manage the facilities, wash bay area (connection points)
- Manage the administration duties for accidents that took place
- Manage the Call Desk duties
- Operate the Trackmatic system and draw reports from the system
- Manage Occupational Health and Safety
- Manage and control of the Food safety management system
- Take charge of the department’s human capital issues incl. engaging with trade union(s), investigations, and hearings and attend CCMA cases
- Must be willing to work overtime as and when required
- Matric
- Certificate or Diploma in Logistics/Transport Management would be advantageous
- At least 3 years within a Logistics/Transport environment
- Computer literacy essential
- Experience in people management
- Display understanding of how the business operates
- Disciplined
- Ability to plan well
- Capacity to manage people dynamics
- Ability to coach employees to work more efficiently
- High energy levels
- Ability to, work with and, be part of a team
- High level of accuracy
