Restaurant ManagerCape Town
This position is for a vibrant, energetic, and experienced Restaurant Manager who will be responsible for jointly managing our busy fine dining restaurant and ensuring that every guest receives personalised attention every time.
While delighting our guests with trendsetting and innovative products and outstanding service experiences, you will achieve operational profitability by driving sales targets and managing costs. Part of your role will be contributing to the planning of food and beverage menu offerings and promotions as well as setting and maintaining food and beverage service standards.
You will conduct regular guest service, menu, sales and standards training with staff and lead teams of people, encouraging teamwork and personal accountability and thereby promoting staff engagement and retention. Managing staff processes such as personal presentation, recruitment, performance and conduct, and daily restaurant operations, including bookings, stock ordering and control, restaurant preparation, cleaning and hygiene protocols, service, and cash ups, will form part of this role.
Along with your Matric Certificate, you have a qualification from a recognised South African or International Educational Institution and Cape Wine Academy, WSET level 2 or 3, and Cocktail Bar courses. Experience in a Sommelier role or equivalent with a strong wine and spirit background, as well as Fine Dining Restaurant experience and food knowledge, will set you apart from the rest.
You have a track record in leading and managing large teams, at least 3 years' experience in a similar role in a busy, up-market restaurant, and a background in using technology, including micros/speed point machines and MS 365.
This role will require your flexibility and ability to work shifts using your own transport. You will maintain a neat and professional appearance and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in all interactions.
Your extensive knowledge of food and beverages, including cocktails, wines, and spirits, will enhance our guests' experience. With a strong awareness of the local hospitality landscape, you will lead and manage your team effectively while excelling in financial management and selling skills.You will take initiative and thrive in an independent work environment, driving success for the restaurant and yourself.
