Accountant

Minimum requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Tertiary qualification in Financial Accounting
• 3 - 5 years experience in an Accountant role at a reputable company
• Proficiency in SAGE Pastel Evolution
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws
• Expertise in financial processing, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting
• Proficiency in MS Office
• High attention to detail
• Effective time management skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform financial functions, including processing and verification
• Manage creditors and debtors efficiently
• Conduct daily and monthly bank reconciliations
• Maintain accuracy in general ledger accounts
• Process accruals and provision journals
• Execute month-end and year-end closure procedures
• Handle year-end adjustments and facilitate audit requirements
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and legal obligations
• Verify reconciliations and ensure timely payments
• Submit and pay statutory returns (SARS VAT/STATS) on time
• Maintain and update the fixed asset register
• Process insurance monthly journal entries
• Prepare forex payments
