Our client, a globally recognized investment platform specializing in the energy sector, based in City Bowl, is looking for an experienced Financial Controller/Manager to join their finance team on a permanent basis. This is an exceptional opportunity for a finance professional to play a key role in managing the financial health of a growing global business.
As a Financial Controller/Manager, you will oversee all financial functions, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, project accounting, and internal controls. You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including project directors, the commercial director, and the CEO, to ensure financial efficiency, cost optimization, and revenue growth across the organization.
Duties:
- Manage all finance operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Identify and drive cost optimization and revenue enhancement initiatives across the business
- Oversee project accounting and manage financial requirements for each project
- Ensure compliance with global reporting and tax filing regulations
- Conduct research on technical accounting issues to ensure compliance with international standards
- Maintain strong internal controls and quality assurance over financial transactions and reporting
- Collaborate with project and commercial directors to drive financial health and effective management of project budgets
- Advise on cost and revenue management strategies, ensuring accurate project budget ownership and control
- Submit monthly, quarterly, and annual management finance reports covering all projects and group entities in a timely manner
- Lead and manage the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) teams and provide financial analysis for decision-making
- Oversee the annual budgeting process and support project directors with budget and forecast preparation
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls
- Work with the CEO to manage cash flow and financial risk
Qualifications & skills:
- BCom in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (essential)
- Completed SAICA articles preferred
- ACMA, CGMA, or a similar professional qualification is advantageous
- 35 years of proven experience as a Financial Controller or Financial Manager
- Experience in the events or services industry is highly advantageous
