Job Description

The Finance Manager will also support strategic decision-making through financial analysis and forecasting, contributing to OUR CLIENTs mission of maintaining industrial stability in the sector.

1. Financial Management & Reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with industry standards.
• Oversee the annual budgeting process, monitoring expenditures to stay within budgetary constraints.
• Generate financial reports and analyse data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.

1. Budgeting and Forecasting

• Lead the development of the annual budget, working closely with department heads.
• Provide financial forecasts to aid in strategic planning, aligning financial goals with OUR CLIENTs mission and objectives.
• Monitor cash flow and forecast future financial performance based on historical data.

1. Compliance and Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, tax obligations, and internal policies.
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and provide documentation as required.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, recommending policies to mitigate financial risks.

1. Financial Analysis & Strategy Support

• Perform financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and operational decisions.
• Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial performance metrics.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or regulatory standards.

1. Team Leadership

• Manage and mentor the finance team, promoting a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement training programs for finance staff to enhance skill sets and efficiency.
• Set performance targets and monitor team progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.

1. Stakeholder Management

• Serve as a liaison between finance and other departments to ensure accurate financial data sharing.
• Collaborate with external parties, such as auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
• Support OUR CLIENT members and stakeholders with financial queries and report generation.

• Honours degree in Accounting, CA(SA), HiDip in Tax is a plus.

• Strong proficiency in financial management software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
• Excellent knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis techniques.
• In-depth understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in South Africa.
• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in finance management, preferably within a unionized or non-profit organization.
