Junior Accountant

Overview

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa

We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our client’s team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a passion for numbers, a strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced accounting environment.

• Assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
• Prepare and maintain financial records, including journal entries and financial statements
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
• Assist with audits and tax preparation
• Provide support to the senior accountants and financial managers as needed
• Stay current on accounting principles and regulations

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5 years post-articles experience in Financial Accounting
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
