Raw Materials Buyer

Our client is looking for an experienced Raw Materials Buyer to manage the procurement of high-quality raw materials, ensuring that production demands are met efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience in the procurement of ingredients or raw materials, particularly within the skincare or cosmetics industry, and will be able to manage supplier relationships while ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Source and procure raw materials required for the manufacturing of skincare products, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and managing long-term partnerships.
• Monitor market trends and identify new sourcing opportunities to ensure a consistent supply of materials at competitive prices.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on price, quality, and delivery reliability, conducting regular assessments and reviews.
• Collaborate with the production and quality assurance teams to ensure all raw materials meet required specifications and regulatory standards.
• Manage inventory levels of raw materials, optimizing stock control to avoid shortages or excess.
• Process purchase orders and ensure all procurement activities are documented accurately and in compliance with company policies.
• Stay up to date with industry developments, material innovations, and environmental sustainability practices to enhance procurement strategies.
• Identify and mitigate any supply chain risks or disruptions, ensuring continuity in production processes.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a procurement role, with specific experience in sourcing raw materials for skincare, cosmetics, or similar industries.
• Proven experience in supplier management and contract negotiations.
• Strong knowledge of the skincare industry and familiarity with raw materials used in product formulations.
• Experience in sustainability practices within procurement is a plus.

Qualifications:

• A relevant degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
